Salary: $180,000–$220,000 USD base salary, plus equity and benefits. Compensation is benchmarked by geographic pay bands.

What you will do

• Own the complete accounting close cycle, including the general ledger, AP, AR, payroll accounting, deferred revenue, reconciliations, and GAAP financial statements.
• Manage ASC 606 revenue recognition across product lines, contract reviews, deferred revenue schedules, and ARR waterfall reconciliation.
• Build AR collections operations, including aging management, customer outreach, escalations, DSO tracking, billing disputes, and cash application.
• Design internal controls, accounting policies, approval governance, and audit-ready processes.
• Own tax compliance, equity accounting under ASC 718, stock option administration, and cap table coordination.
• Partner on board reporting, investor packages, Series B diligence, systems implementation, and external advisor relationships.

Requirements

• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including Controller or Assistant Controller experience at a venture-backed SaaS company.
• Deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP, ASC 606, recurring-revenue accounting, multi-element arrangements, non-standard deals, deferred revenue, and working knowledge of ASC 718.
• Experience building an accounting function from the ground up, including policies, controls, systems, and audit readiness.
• Experience managing external audits through completion.
• Hands-on experience with a modern cloud ERP and integrations with billing, CRM, and payroll platforms.
• Comfort using AI tools for close checklists, variance analysis, contract reviews, reconciliations, and accounting workflows.

Nice to have

• CPA certification and Big Four or regional public accounting experience.
• Background in B2B SaaS, cybersecurity, or compliance.
• Experience scaling accounting teams from Series A onward and supporting Series B fundraising and investor diligence.
