Senior Director of Accounting (AI)

Location: USA - Remote

Salary: $220,000–$260,000 base salary annually, plus potential bonus and equity.

What you will do

• Lead monthly and quarterly close, general ledger integrity, sub-ledger architecture, and operational accounting systems.
• Lead the end-to-end migration from Xero to the selected ERP platform, partnering with the Chief Accounting Officer.
• Manage the operational accounting team covering close, GL, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and accounting systems.
• Operationalize technical accounting requirements for ASC 718, ASC 606, ASC 842, ASC 340, and ASC 805 through the GL and sub-ledgers.
• Deliver the first annual audit operationally, including PBC delivery, opening balance sheet support, and system-based accounting policies.
• Design the SOX control environment and lead the AI-native transformation of operational accounting.

Requirements

• 12+ years of accounting experience, including at least 6 years in a senior operating role at a high-growth company.
• Experience taking a company through its first-ever audit and preparing a company for an IPO.
• Direct experience leading an ERP migration end-to-end at meaningful scale.
• Experience designing an operational accounting function, managing managers, and developing senior leaders.
• Operational fluency in ASC 718, ASC 606, and ASC 842, plus experience standing up SOX controls from scratch.
• Demonstrable use of AI in a real accounting function; CPA certification is preferred but not required.
