What you will do

• Architect and build core robotics software, from hardware abstraction layers to motion planning and trajectory generation.
• Define technical direction across perception, planning, controls, and execution.
• Integrate reinforcement learning, learned planners, foundation models, and neural world models with classical robotics systems.
• Write and ship production code for reliable operation of heavy industrial machines in high-stakes environments.
• Guide 8 engineers through technical leadership, mentoring, and engineering excellence without direct people-management responsibilities.
• Develop solutions for adaptive sensor-driven motion and multi-robot coordination.

Requirements

• 8+ years of robotics software development experience and a record of delivering large-scale systems from concept through deployment.
• Deep expertise in Modern C++ and proficiency with C++14, C++17, or C++20.
• Strong expertise in at least one area: motion planning, manipulation, SLAM, controls, or robot simulation.
• Experience or strong interest in integrating reinforcement learning or foundation models into physical systems.
• Proven ability to influence technical direction, mentor engineers, and raise engineering standards.
• Availability to work onsite in Columbus, Ohio, with relocation support available.
