Team Leader Software Development (Space)

Location: Bremen, Germany; hybrid work with mobile work abroad available

What you will do

• Contribute operationally to projects and support project teams during proposal preparation.
• Lead, guide, evaluate, and develop the software development team in line with company policies and legal requirements.
• Monitor timelines, budgets, quality, and effectiveness, initiating corrective actions where needed.
• Analyze workforce needs, plan capacity, and allocate resources according to competencies, project requirements, and employee motivation.
• Coordinate recruitment and structured onboarding with department leadership and HR.
• Provide expert guidance on complex issues, improve processes and tools, transfer knowledge, and resolve conflicts.

Requirements

• University degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant field.
• Several years of professional experience in the relevant discipline.
• Demonstrated experience in team leadership, employee motivation, talent development, delegation, and decision-making.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, analytical, organizational, and solution-oriented skills.
• Strategic and entrepreneurial mindset with strong results and cost orientation.
• Understanding of software products, technologies, market trends, and emerging developments.

Nice to have

• Experience in the space industry, particularly satellite manufacturing.
• Ability to apply a broad systems perspective to products, technologies, and organizational needs.
