Department Leader (NIGHTS) (Manufacturing)

Location: Onsite in Opelika, Alabama, United States. The role requires managing a 7-day-a-week, 24-hour-a-day operation and working weekends as needed. Immigration sponsorship or support is not available.

Salary: $80,000–$133,000 per year, plus potential annual performance bonus and benefits.

What you will do

• Lead and supervise maintenance processes and operations for buildings, plant equipment, and manufacturing equipment.
• Schedule preventative and predictive maintenance, major equipment overhauls, facility improvements, and site upgrades.
• Manage computerized maintenance systems and ensure accurate equipment histories and work-order records.
• Supervise, train, and develop up to 15 department employees.
• Support safety programs, equipment improvements, engineering controls, and equipment updates.
• Assist with departmental budgeting and maintain operations within budgetary guidelines.

Requirements

• One to two years of college or at least eight years of maintenance or technical experience.
• Five to eight years of experience in food or consumer packaged goods maintenance or a related technical discipline.
• At least five years of supervisory experience in a technical discipline.
• Background knowledge in facilities, preventative and predictive maintenance, and computerized maintenance programs.
• Good mechanical and electrical aptitude, computer skills, and oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work safely in manufacturing and warehouse environments, including exposure to mechanical, chemical, and electrical hazards, and lift and carry packages up to 50 pounds.
