Talent Group for Finance Assistants and People & Culture Assistants, GS-5 (Finance and Human Resources): Processing finance, HR, recruitment, payroll, and administrative transactions for UNICEF’s global shared services with an accent on accuracy, compliance, data protection, and service-level delivery. Focus on managing ERP-based workflows, improving standardized processes, and coordinating services across international regions.
Location: Onsite in Budapest, Hungary. Applicants must be Hungarian or EU/Schengen nationals, or already hold a valid long-term Hungarian residence and work permit; temporary and sponsored visas are not accepted.

What you will do
- Process finance, HR, recruitment, payroll, onboarding, benefits, offboarding, or related administrative transactions accurately and on time.
- Maintain data quality, confidentiality, privacy, and compliance with and UN policies.
- Monitor workloads, service-level agreements, case requests, reports, and process deadlines.
- Update knowledge articles, FAQs, standard operating procedures, guides, and working documentation.
- Identify opportunities to simplify, standardize, and improve shared-service processes.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders and participate in testing business-process and system changes.
Requirements
- Completion of secondary education; technical or university courses related to the field are preferred.
- At least five years of relevant experience in finance, human resources, administration, or a related field. A bachelor’s degree counts as three years and a master’s degree as two years of relevant experience.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong communication, presentation, problem-solving, digital systems, prioritization, and task-management skills.
- Fluent written and verbal English is required.
- Applicants must already have the right to work in Hungary under the stated nationality or permit conditions.
Nice to have
- Experience with HR administration, onboarding, benefits and entitlements, payroll, offboarding, recruitment administration, or talent management.
- Experience in accounts payable, master data, general accounting, financial controlling, treasury, fraud prevention, transaction monitoring, or corporate card administration.
- Experience in a shared service center or international organization.
- Knowledge of an additional UN language, including Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish.
