Maintenance Mechanic (Manufacturing)

Location: Onsite in Baltimore, Maryland, United States

Salary: $24–$34 per hour

What you will do

• Install, repair, relocate, and maintain plant machinery, machine tools, and auxiliary equipment using drawings, manuals, layouts, and specifications.
• Diagnose basic equipment issues, disassemble and repair units, replace defective parts, reassemble equipment, and test completed work.
• Install and maintain pumps, motors, tanks, ducts, guards, brackets, and other machine attachments.
• Maintain air, water, oil, steam, and circulating systems, including basic plumbing and pipefitting repairs.
• Perform facility maintenance involving carpentry, masonry, HVAC support, welding, brazing, cleaning, and seasonal work.
• Inspect repairs, request parts, report defective materials or unusual conditions, and maintain a safe, orderly work area.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• At least 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment involving facility repairs, maintenance, or machine-related work.
• Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, machine construction, and equipment operation.
• Ability to operate lathes, milling machines, planers, grinders, and related equipment for repairs or parts fabrication.
• Ability to perform basic shop mathematics involving decimals and fractions, troubleshoot independently, multitask, and communicate effectively.
• Ability to follow established safety procedures and support a range of facility maintenance activities.
