Senior Systems Engineer (Aerospace & Defense)

Location: Onsite in Aurora, Colorado, United States. U.S. citizenship and an active, transferable Top Secret/SCI clearance with CI Poly are required before the start date.

What you will do

• Support systems engineering activities across requirements analysis, architecture, design elaboration, integration, testing, verification, and validation.
• Decompose customer and mission needs into system- and subsystem-level requirements and maintain use cases, behavior descriptions, interfaces, and technical documentation.
• Support functional analysis, trade studies, technical assessments, mission-thread analysis, and architecture development for complex mission systems.
• Define and document interfaces across software, hardware, networks, platforms, and mission applications.
• Plan and support integration and test activities, requirements traceability, regression testing, technical reviews, and program baselines.
• Coordinate with software, integration, test, cyber, product, and program teams while contributing to Agile planning, risk analysis, issue resolution, and technical recommendations.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship and an active, transferable Top Secret/SCI clearance with CI Poly are required before starting.
• Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• At least 5 years of systems engineering experience in aerospace, defense, intelligence, space, or mission systems programs.
• Experience with one or more systems engineering lifecycle areas, including requirements, functional analysis, interface control, integration and test, verification, or validation.
• Experience supporting government contracts, classified programs, or mission-critical technical environments.
• Strong end-to-end technical analysis, written communication, verbal communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with space, ISR, ground systems, mission management, command and control, satellite, aerospace, or defense programs.
• Experience with Agile systems engineering, Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, Git, DOORS, or MBSE tools such as Cameo Systems Modeler.
• Experience with CI/CD or DevSecOps integration and testing, including SoapUI or similar automated testing tools.
• Experience with Python, Perl, Bash, Linux, Unix, virtualized or cloud environments, and secure infrastructure.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity, system hardening, RMF, STIG, and secure system delivery in classified environments.
