Operator (Satellite Systems)

Location: Onsite in Aurora, Colorado, United States. The role requires U.S. citizenship and an active, in-scope U.S. TS/SCI clearance with a CI polygraph. Relocation assistance is not available.

What you will do

• Analyze and monitor the operation of ground terminal and other operational systems.
• Correct system malfunctions, troubleshoot failures, and maintain system health.
• Monitor multiple large systems in near real time and prioritize appropriate responses to mission situations.
• Evaluate graphical and textual color displays to identify and respond to mission needs.
• Collaborate directly with customers and peers in an open, dynamic operating environment.
• Complete formal certification and maintain certification for ground terminal operations.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship and an active, in-scope TS/SCI clearance with CI polygraph are required.
• Bachelor’s degree with two years of relevant experience, or eight years of related experience in lieu of a degree; military experience may substitute for some requirements.
• Knowledge of operational systems in an operations and maintenance environment, with the ability to learn technical theories and concepts.
• Availability for 12-hour rotating day and night shifts supporting a 7x24 mission, including weekends and holidays.
• Ability to multitask under general direction, distinguish red, blue, white, and green colors on a monitor, and use graphical and textual system displays.
• Ability to learn quickly, troubleshoot effectively, and reason through high-pressure real-time situations.

Nice to have

• Two or more years of experience with electronic systems, electromechanical systems, software applications, or data processing systems.
• Satellite mission support experience in a near-real-time environment.
• Experience working with Raytheon Intelligence and Space or in a customer-facing environment.
• Technical writing and presentation skills, with experience improving existing procedures.
