TL;DR
ATS Software Engineer (Defense Simulation): Develops, integrates, tests, and deploys software components for military training systems with an accent on simulation platforms, networking, system configuration, and product-level troubleshooting. Location: Altus, Oklahoma, USA; work is performed onsite in assembly shops, engineering labs, and customer sites.
Eligibility: Only U.S. citizens are eligible due to U.S. Government contract requirements, and the role requires eligibility for a DoD Personal Security Clearance.

What you will do
- Develop, modify, test, integrate, and deploy software applications for training system components.
- Support networking design, system configuration, operating system setup, and interfaces with platform simulation applications.
- Diagnose product-level software and system issues and implement corrective actions.
- Participate in requirements review, design, coding, integration, testing, and deployment activities.
- Communicate project status, risks, technical issues, and proposed solutions to lead engineers and stakeholders.
- Create technical documentation, including design notes, installation guides, test procedures, and support materials.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline; equivalent experience may be considered.
- 1–3 years of experience in software development, systems integration, or engineering support.
- Foundational knowledge of programming languages, debugging, and structured software development practices.
- Familiarity with operating systems, networking principles, and software installation.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, documentation, and teamwork skills.
- U.S. citizenship and eligibility for a DoD Personal Security Clearance are required.
Nice to have
- Experience with simulation devices, training systems, or defense-related software.
- Knowledge of system integration and simulation platform interfaces.
- Experience with version control or configuration management tools.
- Familiarity with distributed computing, networking protocols, or simulation networking technologies.
- Experience troubleshooting interactions between hardware, software, and integrated systems.
