TL;DR

Location: Greenbelt, Maryland, United States; remote work with occasional travel and off-hours support

Salary: $130,000–$165,000 per year

What you will do

  • Identify, validate, and implement engineering solutions for crewed and robotic missions in low Earth orbit and lunar environments.
  • Support NASA mission planning, satellite network planning, communications system integration, and technical reviews.
  • Evaluate design documentation, verification activities, system-level test results, technical reports, and engineering review packages.
  • Develop technical analyses, status reports, performance assessments, requirements documents, ICDs, test plans, verification matrices, and SLAs.
  • Investigate anomalies, perform fault isolation, recommend corrective actions, and support mission-critical problem resolution.
  • Coordinate engineering activities across NASA centers, partner organizations, international working groups, and internal teams.

Requirements

  • US citizenship is required.
  • Must be eligible to obtain a DoD Secret Security Clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, physics, mathematics, or a related technical discipline, with 7+ years of relevant experience; or a master’s degree with 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Understanding of satellite communications, including space-to-ground communications, baseband processing, or related specialties.
  • Experience authoring technical documentation, engineering procedures, requirements documentation, and analysis reports.
  • Experience with engineering analysis, fault isolation, problem resolution, and presenting technical information to review boards and stakeholders.

Nice to have

  • Master’s degree in a technical discipline.
  • Human spaceflight or mission-critical systems engineering experience.
  • Spacecraft integration, testing, launch, and mission operations experience.
  • Requirements development, interface management, failure analysis, fault management, and verification documentation experience.
  • Relevant systems engineering or communications certifications.
