Location: Remote work is available only while residing within the contiguous United States and more than 30 miles from a physical NuScale office; business travel is required as needed. The position is also associated with Corvallis, Oregon.
Salary: $152,520–$184,076 annually target range; full range of $136,742–$213,878 annually.

What you will do
- Design and analyze NSSS Class 1, 2, and 3 piping systems and components under ASME BPVC Section III.
- Perform piping stress, pipe support, static, dynamic, seismic, thermal, and fluid transient analyses using AutoPIPE, ANSYS, and hand calculations.
- Prepare and review engineering specifications, drawings, CAD models, and technical documentation, collaborating with drafters using Siemens NX.
- Lead evaluations of piping reroutes, support reconfigurations, and other design solutions that satisfy stress criteria.
- Certify ASME Section III piping and piping support design specifications.
- Provide technical oversight and mentoring to early-career engineers.
Requirements
- B.S. degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution; Nuclear or Mechanical Engineering is preferred.
- Professional Engineer license in Mechanical or Nuclear Engineering is required.
- At least 15 years of relevant full-time engineering experience and certifying engineer experience under ASME BPVC Section III are required.
- Expertise in nuclear-industry piping design and stress analysis, AutoPIPE or comparable analysis software, and ASME Section III piping systems or supports.
- Must be eligible to work under Department of Energy 10 CFR Part 810.
- Ability to travel nationally and locally as required.
Nice to have
- Advanced engineering degree.
- Experience qualifying piping systems that include ball joints.
