What you will do

• Design, develop, test, deliver, and maintain software for satellite ground systems.
• Build and maintain scalable Java microservices using Spring Boot and AWS services.
• Contribute across the software development lifecycle in an Agile environment.
• Apply DevSecOps, CI/CD, pipeline automation, and test automation practices.
• Collaborate with engineers, architects, and technical leaders to troubleshoot and resolve complex software challenges.
• Support modernization of legacy systems and mentor team members as opportunities arise.

Requirements

• At least 8 years of software engineering experience.
• Strong object-oriented programming skills with Java and Spring Boot.
• Experience developing microservices in AWS environments.
• Hands-on experience with Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, GitLab, CI/CD, and automated testing.
• Experience with Agile software development lifecycles and multi-tiered architectures.
• Active and transferable U.S. TS/SCI security clearance with CI Poly or TS/SCI required before starting. A STEM bachelor’s degree is typically expected; an advanced degree may reduce experience requirements.

Nice to have

• Experience with satellite ground systems, mission management, command and telemetry, or flight dynamics models.
• Additional programming experience with Python or C++.
• Knowledge of Kafka, JUnit, Jira, Confluence, Eclipse, and Spring Boot.
• Experience transitioning large-scale legacy systems to modern architectures.
• Interest in software leadership and mentoring.
