Mid - Senior Java Software Engineer (Satellite Ground Systems)

Location: Aurora, Colorado, United States. An active and transferable U.S. government-issued TS/SCI security clearance with CI Poly or TS/SCI is required before the start date.

hirify.global is hiring for software engineering work supporting satellite ground systems.

What you will do

• Design, develop, test, deliver, and maintain software for satellite ground systems.
• Build and maintain scalable Java microservices using Spring Boot.
• Work with multi-tier architectures, AWS web services, and microservices design.
• Apply Agile software development lifecycle practices and modern DevSecOps and CI/CD techniques.
• Collaborate with engineers, architects, and technical leaders to deliver reliable software.
• Troubleshoot software challenges in new and existing systems.

Requirements

• At least 8 years of software engineering experience.
• Strong object-oriented programming skills in Java and experience with Spring Boot.
• Experience developing microservices in an AWS environment.
• Experience with Agile development, test automation, CI/CD, and pipeline automation.
• Experience with Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, and GitLab.
• Active and transferable U.S. TS/SCI clearance with CI Poly or TS/SCI required before starting.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in a STEM field; an advanced degree may reduce the experience requirement.
• Experience with satellite ground systems, including mission management, command and telemetry, or flight dynamics models.
• Programming experience in Python or C++.
• Experience with Confluence, Eclipse, Jira, JUnit, Kafka, and Spring Boot.
• Experience modernizing large-scale legacy software systems and mentoring engineers.
