TL;DR
Backend Engineer LATAM (Java) (Spring Boot/AI fintech): Developing and optimizing high-performance backend applications with an accent on scalability, reliability, security, and modular Java code. Focus on designing microservices and APIs, integrating SQL and NoSQL databases and messaging systems, and improving testing, CI/CD, and deployment workflows.

What you will do
- Develop, maintain, and optimize scalable Spring Boot backend applications.
- Write clean, modular, testable Java code for microservices and REST APIs.
- Design and implement features using MySQL and MongoDB databases.
- Apply layered architecture, domain-driven design, and event-driven design principles.
- Troubleshoot backend performance and security issues.
- Collaborate with DevOps teams on CI/CD automation and deployment processes.
Requirements
- Professional experience with Java and Spring Boot, including microservices and REST APIs.
- Proficiency with SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Experience with layered architecture, DDD, or event-driven design.
- Experience with TDD and Spring Boot testing practices using JUnit, Mockito, or Testcontainers.
- Experience with messaging systems such as ActiveMQ or Kafka.
- Good written and spoken English is required.
Nice to have
- Experience with gRPC, GraphQL, or REST API communication.
- Hands-on experience with GitLab Pipelines, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins.
- Experience with AWS, especially EC2 and S3.
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Knowledge of backend security practices and ISO 27001:2022 Annex A 8.28.
