Location: Full-time remote work is available only while residing within the contiguous United States and more than 30 miles from a physical NuScale office; travel to NuScale offices may be required.
Salary: $108,908–$131,441 annually target range; full range $97,642–$152,722 annually.

What you will do
- Design and perform stress analyses for ASME BPVC Section III Class 1, 2, and 3 piping systems and components.
- Design and analyze ASME Section III NF pipe supports using hand calculations or ANSYS.
- Perform static and dynamic analyses covering deadweight, thermal effects, seismic events, fluid transients, response spectra, and time histories.
- Prepare and review engineering specifications, drawings, CAD models, and technical documentation in collaboration with drafters.
- Review Siemens NX models and propose piping reroutes or support reconfigurations to satisfy stress criteria.
- Work under ASME NQA-1 quality assurance requirements and applicable U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission guidelines.
Requirements
- B.S. degree in Engineering from a four-year ABET-accredited college or university, preferably in Mechanical or Nuclear Engineering.
- At least 6 years of relevant full-time professional experience.
- Demonstrated experience designing and performing stress analysis for ASME BPVC Section III piping systems under NB, NC, or ND-3600 requirements.
- Eligibility to work under Department of Energy 10 CFR Part 810.
- Ability to travel nationally and locally as needed.
- Ability to understand and implement 10 CFR 50 Appendix B, 10 CFR 21, and NQA-1 quality assurance requirements.
Nice to have
- Experience with Bentley AutoPIPE or a similar piping analysis code.
- Experience with ANSYS and ASME Section III NB-3200 component analysis.
- Experience with ASME Section III NF supports.
- Professional Engineer certification.
