TL;DR

Contractor - Project Controls Specialist (Scheduler Level 3) (Nuclear) (Primavera P6): Developing, integrating, and analyzing complex nuclear project schedules from initial design through client delivery with an accent on critical path management, schedule risk, and cross-functional coordination. Focus on consolidating master schedules, aligning engineering and supply chain milestones, analyzing earned value, and maintaining performance in a highly regulated environment.

Location: Onsite at the Houston, Texas office; the contract assignment also references Corvallis, Oregon. The role requires national and local travel and eligibility to work under Department of Energy regulation 10 CFR Part 810.

What you will do

  • Develop, update, and maintain detailed project schedules in Primavera P6.
  • Integrate schedules across programs and coordinate dependencies between projects.
  • Analyze critical paths, float, risks, variances, and corrective actions.
  • Align schedule and cost data with cost engineers and project managers, including earned value reporting.
  • Apply PMO governance, scheduling standards, coding structures, calendars, and resource assignments.
  • Guide schedule reviews, communicate risks, and support change management and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, project management, or a related field, or equivalent experience; an additional four years of relevant experience may substitute for the degree.
  • At least five years of full-time project scheduling experience on large-scale projects or programs, including at least five years using Primavera P6.
  • First-hand experience with nuclear power plant outages or nuclear projects is required.
  • Eligibility to work under Department of Energy regulation 10 CFR Part 810 is required.
  • Strong organizational, multitasking, technical writing, communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to coordinate conflicting priorities, influence cross-functional stakeholders, and work within nuclear quality and safety standards including 10 CFR 50 Appendix B, 10 CFR 21, and NQA-1.
