Senior Environmental Advisor (Water Environment/Hydrogeology): Delivering technical water environment and hydrogeological services across infrastructure and construction projects with an accent on environmental management, groundwater monitoring, permitting, and regulatory compliance. Location: Hybrid working is available, with a preference for applicants based in the Chester office; applicants from further afield may be considered. A full UK driving licence is required.

What you will do
- Provide technical input on water environment management, construction environmental management plans, planning obligations, and water advice.
- Organise and undertake site walkovers, borehole installation monitoring, hydraulic testing, and groundwater and surface water monitoring.
- Support abstraction licensing and prepare hydrogeological and groundwater risk assessments for permits and discharges.
- Contribute to proposals, risk identification, project setup, budget tracking, and high-quality deliverables.
- Instruct colleagues and support the development of junior team members through training and guidance.
- Contribute to technical innovation, regulatory updates, team strategy, and business development.
Requirements
- Relevant academic qualification and progress toward, or registration as, a Chartered specialist through a UK/EU-recognised organisation or equivalent.
- Experience delivering technical water environment or hydrogeological work.
- Knowledge of surface water and groundwater sampling, environmental impact assessment, GIS, analysis, and modelling software.
- Good awareness of UK water-related legislation, regulation, recognised best practice, and technical guidance.
- Ability to communicate technical findings through reports and meetings and work independently or collaboratively.
- Full, current driving licence valid in the UK.
