ML ASIC Design Engineer

Location: Hybrid work schedule with office locations in Mountain View, California, or New York City, New York; position is limited to the United States.

Salary: $175,000–$215,000 USD base salary, plus eligibility for an annual bonus, equity incentive plan, and company benefits.

What you will do

• Translate high-level requirements from researchers and architects into hardware features.
• Specify and design microarchitectures for high-performance machine learning workloads.
• Explore and optimize digital ASIC designs for power, area, and performance.
• Design execution units, arithmetic circuits, datapath elements, and programmable engines.
• Collaborate with verification teams to ensure functional correctness and performance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of industry experience with SystemVerilog, ASIC RTL design, and microarchitecture.
• 3+ years designing and specifying microarchitectures for high-performance CPU, GPU, or NPU cores.
• Fluency in at least one high-level programming language, such as Python or C++.
• Ability to work in a hybrid schedule from Mountain View, California, or New York City, New York.

Nice to have

• Experience designing datapath elements for high-performance CPU, GPU, or NPU cores.
• Experience with Chisel, Scala, or other higher-level hardware DSLs.
• Knowledge of machine learning algorithms and their hardware mapping.
• Familiarity with synthesis, power analysis, and formal datapath verification tools.
