Senior/Staff Software Engineer (Autonomous Vehicles)

Salary: $176,400–$319,720 base pay annually, plus annual performance bonus, equity, and benefits.

hirify.global develops Level 4 autonomous driving technology and a universal autonomy platform for robotaxis, logistics fleets, personal vehicles, and other mobility applications.

What you will do

• Develop and implement generalizable Python metrics for verifying autonomous vehicle driving behavior.
• Combine machine learning models with safety metrics from relevant literature to evaluate end-to-end behavior.
• Evaluate metrics using synthetic and log simulation, on-road logs, closed-course testing data, and third-party accident reconstructions.
• Collaborate with Systems, Behavior, Perception, Data Science, Product, Legal, and Public Trust teams to define metric and test acceptance criteria.
• Partner with simulation infrastructure and test integration teams to build automated verification workflows.
• Produce performance and validation reports demonstrating that the autonomous system is safe to deploy within the target Operation Design Domain.

Requirements

• 5+ years of technical experience in a relevant area, including 3+ years of software development experience.
• Proficiency in Python or C++.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, Physics, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of robotic systems architecture, including sensing, localization, perception, prediction, behavior, and control.
• Familiarity with simulation and real-world testing of autonomous systems.
• Strong analytical, communication, and collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Experience developing software for Level 4 autonomous vehicles.
• Experience building computational models for driving behavior or machine-learning-based metrics for behavior evaluation.
