Maintenance Technician

What you will do

• Troubleshoot, repair, install, and modify building systems and equipment, including HVAC, plumbing, kitchen equipment, pumps, valves, and electrical and mechanical devices.
• Perform preventive maintenance, cleaning, lubrication, servicing, inspections, and safety checks across buildings, grounds, and equipment.
• Maintain fire alarms, fire pumps, and related life-safety systems as assigned.
• Repair building finishes and perform carpentry, painting, grounds maintenance, and snow removal when needed.
• Respond to emergency situations and customer service requests, sometimes working as the only maintenance staff member on duty.
• Use building automation systems, computers, tablets, smartphones, and web-based applications while following safety procedures and applicable codes.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• At least 2 years of related experience in a commercial property setting.
• Technical, vocational, or on-the-job training in HVAC, electrical, mechanical, process controls, power transmissions, painting, plumbing, carpentry, or engine repair.
• Valid driver’s license and good driving record; a commercial license may be required.
• Basic skills in Outlook, Excel, and Word.
• Ability to work shifts, extended emergency periods, overtime assignments, and standby/on-call duties.
