Sr. Data Scientist - AI Research (AI)

Location: Remote within the United States or onsite at the Burlingame, California headquarters.

Salary: $128,000–$197,000 annual base salary, with potential discretionary bonuses.

What you will do

• Collaborate with Data, Product, Engineering, and Clinical teams on AI/ML initiatives for the mental health platform.
• Analyze diverse data sources and partner with data engineers to build pipelines that apply clinical logic to raw data.
• Extract actionable insights and develop predictive and generative models.
• Design rigorous evaluation frameworks to support product iterations.
• Complete time-sensitive ad hoc analyses and data requests for internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements

• 5+ years of industry data analysis experience, preferably including product analytics in AI/ML environments.
• Experience collaborating with technical, business, and clinical stakeholders.
• Strong knowledge of experimentation, probability, regression, and hypothesis testing.
• Experience analyzing irregular data from disparate sources and cleaning messy data.
• Strong SQL skills, including complex queries across multiple schemas and tables.
• Graduate-level statistics coursework and an MS in a quantitative field are preferred.

Nice to have

• AI/ML R&D experience, including prompt engineering and RAG.
• Python experience with data cleaning, JSON parsing, API calls, user-defined functions, and automation.
• Interest in public health.
