Senior Data Scientist (AI)

Location: San Mateo, California, United States; hybrid model with approximately 3 days per week in-office

Salary: $178,000–$223,000 annual base salary plus equity and benefits

What you will do

• Lead end-to-end data science projects from problem definition through deployment and measurement.
• Design, validate, maintain, and deploy statistical and machine learning models.
• Build predictive models, experiments, decision-support analytics, and scalable analytical frameworks that improve business KPIs.
• Develop a privacy-safe understanding of a 100M+ audience for product and partner decisions.
• Run experimentation, causal analysis, and hypothesis testing, while establishing data-quality and reproducibility standards.
• Partner with product, engineering, operations, and business leaders; mentor junior data scientists and analysts.

Requirements

• Master's degree and typically 4+ years of experience in data science or advanced analytics.
• Deep expertise in statistical modeling, experimentation, and machine learning.
• Strong SQL and Python or R skills.
• Experience influencing business decisions with data and measuring adoption and outcomes.
• Ability to communicate complex findings to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Availability for the hybrid San Mateo, California work model, including approximately 3 days per week in-office.

Nice to have

• PhD in a quantitative field.
• Experience deploying machine learning models to production.
• Experience with cloud-based analytics and machine learning platforms.
• Experience mentoring data scientists or leading cross-functional initiatives.
