Senior Data Scientist - Clinical Informaticist (Healthcare AI)

Location: USA - Madison, WI, Junction Rd; hybrid role

Salary: $85,600.00–$149,400.00 USD annually, plus bonus eligibility

What you will do

• Engage healthcare customers to understand medication, continuous infusion, clinical, and operational workflows.
• Profile, map, normalize, and validate real-world healthcare data for clinically accurate and interoperable product outputs.
• Configure customer environments, support onboarding, investigate diversion and surveillance issues, and distinguish data or configuration problems from product defects.
• Build synthetic and de-identified datasets for demonstrations, testing, and model development while protecting PHI.
• Partner with data engineering on ETL pipelines and with product and clinical teams to turn findings into features and clinician-facing documentation.
• Communicate analyses, validation results, dataflows, release notes, and implementation progress to technical, clinical, and customer stakeholders.

Requirements

• Degree or equivalent hands-on experience in pharmacy, nursing, medicine, health or clinical informatics, data science, or a related quantitative field.
• Clinical background and strong understanding of medication-use, acute-care, and healthcare delivery workflows.
• Proficiency in Python and/or R, SQL, statistical modeling, and machine learning, with experience taking analyses or models through validation.
• Knowledge of RxNorm, NDC, SNOMED CT, ICD, LOINC, GPI, MME, EMR, ADC, HL7/FHIR, and healthcare interoperability.
• Experience profiling and validating large, messy clinical datasets and working with clinical surveillance, medication safety, diversion monitoring, or clinical decision-support software.
• At least 4 years of professional experience in data science, predictive modeling, or machine learning.

Nice to have

• Experience with Oracle, Epic, Meditech, Cerner, Pyxis, or Omnicell data.
• PowerShell or Python scripting for validation, plus familiarity with MLOps and model monitoring.
• Advanced degree, relevant clinical certification or licensure, portfolio work, or a demonstrated record of shipping healthcare data or AI solutions.
