Senior Mobile Engineer (Android)

Location: Austin, Texas, United States. Hybrid work is available for up to 2 days per week from home; candidates must live within commuting distance of an Expedia office. This position is not eligible for relocation benefits or assistance.

Salary: $184,500–$258,000 per year.

What you will do

• Design, implement, debug, and test Android software, application components, and engineering tools.
• Drive technical direction for application-level features and small to mid-sized projects.
• Develop internal libraries and reusable components that support shared functionality across applications and teams.
• Contribute to scalable platform architecture and cross-platform integration across engineering teams.
• Improve build systems and development workflows to reduce build times and increase engineering efficiency.
• Collaborate with technical staff, program management, requirements teams, and testing peers to deliver quality implementations.

Requirements

• Senior-level mobile engineering experience, supported by a bachelor's degree and 8 years of relevant post-baccalaureate experience, or a master's degree and 6 years of relevant experience.
• Android development with Kotlin and Java.
• Jetpack Compose, Gradle, GraphQL, and dependency injection.
• Unit testing, UI testing, and CI/CD.
• Experience with software design, algorithms, data structures, debugging, documentation, and engineering process adherence.
• Must live within commuting distance of an Expedia office in the United States; relocation assistance is not available.
