Staff Android Engineer

Location: Menlo Park, California, with in-person attendance expected at least 3 days per week

Base pay range: $230,000–$270,000 USD annually for Zone 1 locations. The role is also eligible for bonus opportunities, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Define technical direction for Android experiences across high-impact trading product areas.
• Build reliable mobile systems using Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, and modern Android APIs.
• Lead complex initiatives from product and technical strategy through architecture, implementation, experimentation, launch, and long-term evolution.
• Partner with Product, Design, Backend Engineering, and Data Science to shape roadmaps and product decisions.
• Establish architecture patterns and engineering practices that improve quality, scalability, maintainability, and developer velocity.
• Mentor engineers, lead design reviews, resolve critical decisions, and raise execution and collaboration standards.

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional experience developing Android applications, including leadership of large-scale or technically complex mobile initiatives.
• Deep proficiency with Kotlin and/or Java, Android SDK fundamentals, and architecture patterns such as MVVM.
• Strong experience with Jetpack Compose, Coroutines and Flow or RxJava, Retrofit, and Room in complex production environments.
• Ability to influence cross-functional partners and align teams around technical and product direction.
• Experience leading through ambiguity, driving architecture across multiple projects or surfaces, and mentoring senior engineers.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
