TL;DR
Aerospace Production Technician II/III (Aerospace): Performing precision assembly, operation, inspection, and maintenance of spaceflight hardware and aerospace mechanisms with an accent on electro-mechanical deployables, soldering, and electronic circuitry. Focus on assembling separation systems and on-orbit devices, investigating non-conformances, and improving production processes.

Location: Silver Spring, Maryland, United States; onsite at hirify.global’s site

Base pay range: $24–$29 USD per hour.

What you will do

  • Perform precision assembly of aerospace mechanisms using established procedures.
  • Operate spaceflight hardware and assembly fixtures with data acquisition systems.
  • Attach and remove components and inspect mechanical and electrical parts.
  • Solder spaceflight harnesses according to J-STD requirements.
  • Suggest process improvements and assist with non-conformance investigations.
  • Work with separation systems, on-orbit devices, and other electro-mechanical deployables.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • For Technician II: 2+ years of hands-on aerospace assembly experience.
  • For Technician III: 5+ years of hands-on aerospace assembly experience.
  • Understanding of basic electronic circuitry.
  • For U.S. office roles, candidates must be U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, refugees, asylees, or eligible to obtain the required ITAR authorizations.
  • Ability to stand and walk for an entire 8+ hour shift, work at heights and in confined spaces, and lift, carry, push, or pull equipment up to 25 pounds.

Nice to have

  • Associate degree.
  • 8+ years of aerospace assembly experience.
  • Proficiency with electronic circuitry.
  • J-STD-001-FS certification.
