Assembly Technician, Hands Team (Robotics)

Location: San Carlos, California, United States; on-site. Day shift: 7:00 AM–3:30 PM or swing shift: 3:00 PM–11:30 PM.

Salary: $30.00–$40.00 per hour plus equity.

What you will do

• Build precision electromechanical hand subassemblies to specification, including motors, encoders, PCBs, harnesses, fine-pitch connectors, and sub-M2 fasteners.
• Meet shift production targets while maintaining micron-level tolerances, quality, uptime, and conformance.
• Identify and document defects, process deviations, and material issues before they move downstream.
• Maintain accurate build logs and inspection data for each unit.
• Drive line improvements by surfacing issues, proposing fixes, and collaborating with engineering and the opposite shift.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in precision electromechanical assembly, micro assembly, or similar fine-component manufacturing.
• Experience assembling miniature motors, gearboxes, encoders, PCBs, and fine-pitch connectors.
• Proficiency with precision hand tools, low-value calibrated torque instruments, and dimensional inspection tools such as micrometers, pin gauges, dial indicators, and calipers.
• Working knowledge of ESD handling procedures and controlled-environment protocols.
• Ability to read engineering drawings, follow detailed work instructions, perform fine-detail work for extended periods, and lift up to 30 lbs occasionally.
• Professional-level English proficiency in written and verbal communication and reliable attendance for scheduled shifts are required.

Nice to have

• MES or ERP experience with Odoo, SAP, or similar systems.
• Robotic, actuator, gearbox, or servo assembly experience.
• Soldering, thermal compound or adhesive handling, vision inspection, digital measurement, firmware flashing, programming, or functional testing experience.
• Lean manufacturing, 5S, or continuous improvement experience.
