Lead Production Technician (Aerospace)

What you will do

• Lead production technicians, coordinate schedules, run production stand-ups, and set standards through hands-on work.
• Assemble and integrate spacecraft components and subsystems, including electrical harnesses and mechanical structures.
• Perform cable routing, thermal insulation, soldering, bonding, torque-controlled fastening, testing, anomaly detection, and repairs.
• Handle PCBs and conduct incoming and in-process inspections to IPC-A-610 criteria, plus functional and continuity testing.
• Maintain production equipment, QA test benches, fixtures, 5S/FOD controls, and personnel-driven procedures.
• Improve assembly and integration instructions to increase build quality and efficiency.

Requirements

• 10+ years of hands-on mechanical or electrical assembly experience, preferably in space, aerospace, defense, robotics, automotive, or electronics.
• 5+ years in a lead role, with experience building, coaching, coordinating, and communicating with production technician teams.
• Experience interpreting schematics, mechanical drawings, assembly instructions, and basic GD&T.
• Proficiency with hand tools, torque tools, PCB inspection equipment, multimeters, ohmmeters, DC power supplies, oscilloscopes, and laboratory test equipment.
• Experience operating production equipment such as environmental chambers, deployment fixtures, lifting equipment, vibration/shock/thermal cycling systems, and 3D printers.

Nice to have

• Current or past IPC-A-610, J-STD-001, or IPC/WHMA-A-620 certification.
