TL;DR
Lead Test Operator (Aerospace): Installing instrumentation, operating test-cell equipment, and executing pre-programmed test sequences for small turbine engines with an accent on mechanical and electrical assembly, safety, and strict technical documentation. Focus on troubleshooting instrumentation and equipment issues, maintaining test hardware, and supporting process improvements in a high-rate production environment.

Location: Onsite at the Centennial, Colorado facility; occasional travel to Cincinnati, Ohio, Knoxville, Tennessee, or other testing and manufacturing locations may be required.

Salary: $38.00–$43.00 per hour, plus a shift differential.

hirify.global develops and manufactures small turbine and jet propulsion systems using additive manufacturing for unmanned aerial defense and other defense applications.

What you will do

  • Install, align, connect, and operate small turbine engines in test cells according to standard work instructions and pre-programmed test sequences.
  • Install thermal couples, pressure transducers, strain gauges, accelerometers, and other testing instrumentation on engine hardware.
  • Perform mechanical and electrical work on supporting equipment, including cables, pipes, fittings, fixtures, and specialized tooling.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, pneumatic equipment, measuring instruments, and prescribed software to complete and document test activities.
  • Maintain test equipment, troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation issues, and support test-procedure and work-instruction improvements.
  • Follow EHS and PPE requirements, communicate significant issues, support root-cause and corrective-action activities, and maintain accurate technical and timekeeping records.

Requirements

  • At least 4 years of experience, including 2 years of mechanical and/or electrical assembly testing experience, preferably in a highly regulated industry.
  • Strong understanding of testing processes, standard work instructions, hand-tool use, and lean manufacturing.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving, task-execution, initiative, and ability to learn through verbal instruction and hands-on experience.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills; English communication is required.
  • U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued security clearance are required.
  • Ability to work standing for most of the day and lift up to 35 pounds.

Nice to have

  • Experience with gas turbine engines for aviation applications.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic systems and/or fuel supply systems.
  • Knowledge of basic electrical cabling and wiring.
