What you will do
- Lead detailed design of protection and control packages, including one-line/three-line diagrams, control and relaying schematics, wiring diagrams, SCADA, communications, and grounding design.
- Coordinate and analyze computer-based models and perform utility power system studies (short circuit, load flow, relay coordination, arc flash, motor starting, power factor, harmonic analysis).
- Review equipment data sheets, manuals, and testing reports; verify design quality and accuracy across engineers, designers, drafters, and field service personnel.
- Develop and refine internal processes and workflows to improve quality, consistency, and efficiency; mentor and coach team members via individualized development plans.
- Support value engineering and design efficiencies; assist with proposals and business development activities (Seller-Doer) and prepare technical write-ups for change orders.
- Provide field assistance, troubleshooting, and observation reports; maintain knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and construction practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology (electric power option preferred).
- 8+ years of relevant engineering or field experience.
- FE required; PE preferred.
- Strong knowledge of utility distribution/transmission equipment and instrumentation/controls (including switchgear and motor control centers); familiarity with voltage distribution above 240kV.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and high proficiency with power system software (DIgSILENT/PowerFactory, EasyPower, ETAP, SKM, CDEGS, or CYMCAP).
- Must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
