Senior Electrical Engineer (Oil & Gas)

Location: Remote for candidates located within the Odessa/Midland, Texas area; occasional field work and 15–25% travel required.

Salary: $125,000–$175,000 per year.

What you will do

• Design electrical power systems for substations and other utility, industrial, commercial, and oil and gas projects.
• Develop one-line and three-line diagrams, protection and control schematics, wiring diagrams, SCADA and communications systems, grounding designs, equipment specifications, and cable and conduit layouts.
• Build computer-based models and perform short-circuit, load-flow, relay-coordination, arc-flash, motor-starting, power-factor, and harmonic studies.
• Develop, set, test, wire, and install protective relay and control systems.
• Prepare estimates, budgets, proposals, technical reports, schedules, submittal reviews, and change-order documentation.
• Support factory acceptance testing, commissioning, field troubleshooting, quality reviews, client communication, and project coordination.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology from an accredited institution; an electric power focus is preferred.
• 7+ years of relevant engineering or field experience.
• FE licensure required; PE licensure preferred.
• Knowledge of medium- and low-voltage distribution, protection and control schemes, and substation electrical design.
• Experience with power system studies software such as PSSE, PSCAD, ETAP, or SKM, plus project and client coordination experience.
• Must be currently authorized to work full-time in the United States and located within the Odessa/Midland, Texas area.
