Director, Embedded Memory (Semiconductor)

Location: Da Nang, Vietnam. The role is based under the hirify.global/Mixel Vietnam entity.

What you will do

• Lead architecture, circuit design, physical implementation, characterization, and delivery of embedded memory compilers across multiple process nodes.
• Define bitcell, peripheral, assist, redundancy, repair, BIST, DFT, and self-timing architectures to achieve performance, power, area, voltage, and yield targets.
• Own the memory portfolio roadmap, design methodology, verification, signoff, PPA benchmarking, and compiler automation.
• Lead silicon validation, test-chip development, testing, reporting, and correlation analysis.
• Manage, mentor, and develop a team of memory design engineers while allocating resources across roadmap, customer, and silicon programs.
• Lead presales, technical proposals, customer workshops, integration support, PPA negotiations, and foundry partner engagements.

Requirements

• BS, MS, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• 10+ years of embedded memory design experience with production tapeouts of SRAM and at least two additional memory types, such as ROM, register files, or dual-port RAM.
• Deep expertise in bitcell and peripheral circuit design, SPICE, Monte Carlo analysis, Vmin and yield modeling, reliability analysis, and multiple process nodes including FinFET or advanced sub-7nm nodes.
• Working knowledge of memory compiler architecture, generated views, RTL/Verilog modeling, compiler automation, DFT, power integrity signoff, and physical verification flows.
• Experience leading or managing a team of 6+ memory designers and working directly with customers on presales, PPA, integration, and silicon validation.
• Strong communication skills, scripting proficiency in Python, TCL, or Perl, and experience with Linux-based design environments and AI tools such as Claude, OpenAI, or Gemini.

Nice to have

• Experience leading memory compiler programs at an IP vendor, foundry, or large semiconductor company.
• Background in low-power memory design for mobile, IoT, automotive, or AI/ML accelerator applications.
• Experience with multi-port memories beyond two ports or specialty memories such as TCAM and multi-bank arrays.
• Presentations at ISSCC, the VLSI Symposium, or custom integrated circuits conferences, or contributions to memory IP standards.
