Location: Remote within the United States; the role is listed for California. US citizenship or a Green Card is required. Occasional business travel and availability to work with distributed teams across multiple time zones are expected.
Salary: $100,000β$145,000 per year, plus potential bonuses, equity grants, and benefits.

What you will do
- Administer open-source virtualization and VMware environments supporting thousands of virtual machines.
- Engineer and administer Linux systems in a large-scale production environment.
- Monitor, maintain, operate, and troubleshoot production infrastructure and server hardware.
- Automate recurring tasks and deploy infrastructure using an IaaS model and Chef or similar tools.
- Write scripts and moderately complex programs for automation, tools, frameworks, dashboards, and alarms.
- Participate in an on-call rotation and collaborate with cross-functional, distributed teams.
Requirements
- US citizenship or Green Card holder status.
- At least 3 years of experience in a large-scale production environment.
- Bachelor's degree in a computer-related field or equivalent experience.
- Experience with virtualization, Linux administration, production operations, and server troubleshooting.
- Ability to work effectively with distributed teams across multiple time zones and participate in occasional business travel.
- Strong attention to detail, timely decision-making, self-learning ability, and experience using AI technologies to improve workflows and outcomes.
Nice to have
- Experience with Chef, Python, Go, Perl, PHP, JavaScript, or similar scripting and programming technologies.
- Familiarity with public cloud and cloud administration concepts.
