Electrical Engineer (MCI Protection & Control): Performing detailed engineering design and analysis for mission critical and industrial electrical power systems with an accent on protection and control aspects including one-line diagrams, schematics, and SCADA. Focus on conducting power system studies like short circuit, load flow, relay coordination, arc flash, developing protective relay settings, and preparing project documentation.
Location: Fully remote or in-office (Lakewood, CO). Must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
Salary: $85,000 - $125,000 / year (based on Denver, Colorado labor market)

What you will do
- Perform detailed P&C design including one-line diagrams, three-line diagrams, control schematics, wiring diagrams, SCADA, conduit/cable sizing, grounding, and equipment selection/specifications.
- Prepare computer-based models and conduct power system studies: short circuit, load flow, relay coordination, arc flash, power factor, harmonics.
- Develop protective relay, RTU, DFR, and network settings.
- Prepare project documents like sequence of events, proposals, studies, cost estimates, and schedules.
- Provide field assistance, troubleshooting, and check work of designers/drafters.
- Assist with client communications and apply relevant codes/standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology (electric power option preferred).
- 1–5 years of relevant engineering or field experience.
- Knowledge of electrical design.
- FE licensure (PE a plus).
- Effective written/oral communication and interpersonal skills.
- Currently authorized to work in the United States full-time.
Nice to have
- Experience with IEEE 2030.7.
- Experience with NERC PRC interconnection standards.
