Electrical Engineer (MCI Protection & Control)

Location: Fully remote or in-office (Lakewood, CO). Must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Salary: $85,000 - $125,000 / year (based on Denver, Colorado labor market)

What you will do

• Perform detailed P&C design including one-line diagrams, three-line diagrams, control schematics, wiring diagrams, SCADA, conduit/cable sizing, grounding, and equipment selection/specifications.
• Prepare computer-based models and conduct power system studies: short circuit, load flow, relay coordination, arc flash, power factor, harmonics.
• Develop protective relay, RTU, DFR, and network settings.
• Prepare project documents like sequence of events, proposals, studies, cost estimates, and schedules.
• Provide field assistance, troubleshooting, and check work of designers/drafters.
• Assist with client communications and apply relevant codes/standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology (electric power option preferred).
• 1–5 years of relevant engineering or field experience.
• Knowledge of electrical design.
• FE licensure (PE a plus).
• Effective written/oral communication and interpersonal skills.
• Currently authorized to work in the United States full-time.

Nice to have

• Experience with IEEE 2030.7.
• Experience with NERC PRC interconnection standards.
