What you will do

• Set Square-wide product strategy and roadmap for seller trust across Risk and Identity.
• Lead product areas including identity verification, access, disputes, and controls.
• Act as hands-on DRI for ambiguous, high-stakes trust and safety problems.
• Improve verification, limits, and remediation for legitimate sellers while reducing false declines.
• Drive accountability for risk loss rate, seller trust, access expansion, and ecosystem health.
• Coordinate Product, Engineering, Compliance, Legal, Operations, regulators, and identity-verification partners.

Requirements

• 8+ years of product management experience, including leading and coaching senior product talent.
• Experience with trust and safety, risk, identity, compliance, or other complex regulated products.
• Demonstrated ability to originate strategy in ambiguous environments and build platform or infrastructure products.
• Strong narrative and stakeholder-alignment skills with executives, regulators, and cross-functional teams.
• Experience managing regulatory requirements and compliance-driven product development.

Nice to have

• Payments or fintech product experience.
• Experience with fraud prevention, identity verification, or KYC/AML.
• Experience building internal tools and customer-facing products.
• Familiarity with ML/AI-powered risk and fraud detection systems.
• Knowledge of FATF, AMLD, GDPR, CFPB, or identity-verification providers such as Veriff, Onfido, Persona, and Jumio.
