Salary: $253,120–$379,680 USD base salary for positions in California, plus eligibility for annual bonuses and equity compensation.

What you will do
- Lead and grow a team of senior and staff embedded systems engineers responsible for the RTOS build, configuration, and runtime layers.
- Set technical direction for real-time scheduling, memory protection, multicore partitioning, fault handling, and core allocation.
- Guide the design of C++ runtime APIs, memory-management primitives, synchronization mechanisms, and isolation guarantees.
- Oversee boot sequencing, secure boot integration, watchdogs, fault escalation, and platform bring-up.
- Partner with hardware, platform, silicon, and systems safety teams on diagnostics, firewalls, power, thermal management, and hardware limitations.
- Drive coding standards, static analysis, debug and trace instrumentation, hiring, performance management, and career development.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years of relevant experience, Master’s degree with 8+ years, or PhD with 5+ years.
- Significant embedded systems or RTOS development experience, including several years in technical leadership or engineering management.
- Deep knowledge of real-time scheduling theory, MPU/MMU memory protection, and low-level C and C++ programming.
- Experience with embedded runtime APIs, multicore RTOS architectures, inter-core communication, core allocation, and cross-core synchronization.
- Familiarity with automotive or other safety-critical development practices such as ISO 26262 or DO-178C.
- Experience hiring and managing engineering teams, with strong communication across hardware, safety, and application teams.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with MISRA C++ coding standards.
- Experience with autonomous driving or ADAS software.
- Bazel build system expertise.
