Software Manager (AV Platform OS and Drivers): Leading the development of core platform OS and driver software for high-performance compute platforms with an accent on BSP, hardware abstraction layers, and device drivers. Focus on platform bring-up, software integration, and mentoring a high-performance engineering team to ensure system stability and scalability.

Location: Hybrid: Must be based in or be able to relocate to Sunnyvale, CA or Warren, MI (minimum 3 days per week in office).

Salary: $160,200 - $246,300

What you will do

• Lead and grow a team of engineers focused on Platform OS, BSP, kernel-level software, and device drivers.
• Set technical direction and execution priorities for low-level platform software development.
• Drive platform bring-up activities for new hardware and software releases.
• Oversee the development, integration, and maintenance of drivers for compute, storage, networking, and sensors.
• Partner with hardware, silicon, and validation teams to deliver stable platform capabilities on schedule.
• Establish engineering processes for design reviews, code quality, root cause analysis, and release readiness.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of experience in embedded software, systems software, or low-level Linux development.
• 2+ years of engineering management or technical team leadership experience.
• Strong proficiency in embedded C and C++.
• Deep understanding of OS kernels, multithreading, memory management, and hardware-software interfaces.
• Experience with Linux, RTOS, board bring-up, and system-level debugging.

Nice to have

• Experience with automotive, ADAS, autonomy, or robotics.
• Expertise with ARM-based SoCs, boot flows, secure boot, and power management.
• Familiarity with kernel instrumentation, tracing, and profiling tools.
• Experience with CI/CD and automated test infrastructure for platform software.
• Knowledge of functional safety and cybersecurity practices.
