What you will do

• Lead, mentor, hire, and develop a high-performing vehicle controls engineering team.
• Build processes that improve engineering efficiency, quality, velocity, accountability, and team culture.
• Partner with electrical, firmware, and mechanical teams on cross-domain integration and system-level troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with service and manufacturing teams to triage controls faults, define service actions, and improve fleet uptime.
• Contribute to roadmaps for future vehicle programs, including technical risk assessment and staffing plans.
• Define long-term technical strategy to expand Arc’s vehicle controls capabilities.

Requirements

• United States Person status under ITAR is required.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in embedded systems, controls, or vehicle electrical integration.
• 2+ years of experience leading and managing engineering teams, including mentoring, performance management, and hiring.
• Experience shipping complex hardware-integrated, real-time systems into production.
• Strong judgment when making system-level tradeoffs under real-world constraints.
• Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, and cross-functional stakeholder communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with EV or marine electrical and controls architectures.
• Proficiency in C, C++, Rust, or similar languages for embedded or automation development.
• Experience with model-based design or control algorithm development using tools such as MATLAB or Simulink.
• Enthusiasm for boating and the water.
