Product Manager II - Software & Communications (Space Systems)

Location: Hybrid in San Jose, California, with on-site work three days per week. Applicants must meet U.S. export-control eligibility requirements for access to controlled information.

Salary: $177,000–$203,000, plus equity and benefits.

An end-to-end space systems provider that designs, builds, and operates LEO satellite constellations for mission-critical Earth intelligence and remote sensing.

What you will do

• Own roadmaps for RF and optical bits-to-ground communications, mission simulation, and software test infrastructure.
• Expand the digital twin into a tool for flight and ground software iteration before spacecraft deployment.
• Define and prioritize features that improve product quality, schedule adherence, and customer value.
• Write product requirements documents, acceptance criteria, and roadmap decisions based on customer feedback.
• Coordinate with engineering, product, mission systems, and federal product stakeholders on strategic priorities and trade-offs.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of product management experience owning software products in technically complex environments.
• Experience with communications systems, simulation, test infrastructure, or adjacent deep-tech software domains.
• Ability to work across multiple engineering teams and manage concurrent, multi-month workstreams.
• Strong technical communication and influence skills, including investment decisions without direct authority.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• Must satisfy U.S. export-control eligibility requirements, including applicable U.S. person or export authorization conditions.

Nice to have

• Active U.S. Government security clearance.
• Knowledge of RF or optical communications, link budgets, or ground station networks.
• Experience with mission design, constellation modeling, digital twins, or hardware-in-the-loop testing.
• Experience building software for the space environment or working in a startup or high-growth technology company.
