What you will do

• Manage and coach a team of AI Engineers, fostering a high-performance culture of ownership, trust, and experimentation.
• Serve as a player-coach by actively participating in architecture reviews, technical design, prototyping, and critical implementation.
• Define and execute the AI technical strategy, focusing on RAG systems, agentic workflows, and LLM-powered features.
• Partner with Product, Design, Platform, and Security teams to deliver robust, trustworthy, and compliant AI solutions.
• Balance short-term product delivery with long-term platform investments and technical debt reduction.
• Champion engineering excellence and establish best practices for deploying and operating AI at scale.

Requirements

• 8+ years of software engineering experience, with 3+ years leading engineering teams.
• 3-5+ years of experience building and deploying AI-powered products in production environments.
• Hands-on expertise with Python, Azure OpenAI/AWS Bedrock, Databricks, and Kubernetes.
• Deep experience with RAG, agentic AI workflows, and orchestration frameworks like LangChain, LangGraph, or CrewAI.
• Proven track record of architecting and scaling distributed systems and AI platforms.
• Must be based in Canada.

Nice to have

• Background in the FinTech ecosystem or B2B SaaS environments.
• Strong knowledge of Agile, CI/CD, test automation, and modern DevOps practices.
• Experience with LLMOps tooling and AI developer tooling.
