Component Design Engineer (Large Engine) (Diesel, Natural Gas, and Alternative-Fuel Engines): Designing and validating cylinder heads, engine blocks, and housings for large reciprocating engines with an accent on manufacturing readiness, reliability, durability, and supplier collaboration. Focus on applying FMEA and structured problem-solving methods, resolving complex manufacturing and product issues, and delivering components for NPI, NTI, CPI, and NSI programs.

What you will do
- Concept, develop, and design cylinder heads, engine blocks, housings, and other core engine components.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, purchasing, quality, marketing, engineering, operations, and suppliers to deliver customer-focused solutions.
- Perform root cause analysis and structured problem solving for manufacturing and product issues.
- Evaluate design reliability, durability, validation costs, product costs, and program requirements.
- Plan and execute FMEAs, validation plans, product evaluations, and supplier change assessments.
- Lead supplier collaboration and support NTI, NPI, CPI, and NSI projects through on-time delivery.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, Materials Science, or a related accredited technical discipline.
- Advanced English-speaking ability required.
- Knowledge of manufacturing readiness, production launches, tooling implementation, process improvement, and engineering change implementation.
- Experience with structured problem solving, root cause analysis, Pareto charts, fishbone diagrams, process maps, and corrective actions.
- Knowledge of CAD, CAM, manufacturing equipment, and production technologies.
- Ability to communicate technical information and coordinate cross-functional activities with global stakeholders.
