Software Asset Management Analyst

What you will do

• Support the end-to-end lifecycle of IT assets, with a primary focus on software, from requests and procurement through deployment, maintenance, and retirement.
• Maintain accurate asset, licensing, contract, purchase order, and documentation records in ITAM and service management systems.
• Track software entitlements, usage, deployments, renewals, and compliance with vendor licensing agreements.
• Support internal and external software audits through data gathering, validation, reporting, and remediation tracking.
• Partner with IT, Finance, vendors, and business stakeholders on acquisitions, budgeting, invoicing, forecasting, and renewal planning.
• Identify opportunities for license reclamation, right-sizing, consolidation, standardization, and broader ITAM process improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least 3 years of experience in IT asset management, software asset management, IT service management, procurement support, or related IT operations.
• Foundational knowledge of software licensing models, including subscription, perpetual, user/device-based, and SaaS licensing.
• Experience with ITAM, CMDB, or ITSM tools such as HaloITSM.
• Knowledge of budgeting, depreciation, expense management, data reconciliation, and reporting for IT assets.
• Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills, with proficiency in Microsoft 365 and Excel.

Nice to have

• Experience with asset tracking, license management, or audit activities in an enterprise environment.
• Familiarity with IT service management concepts and ITIL v4 Foundation certification.
