Company
develops commercial satellite connectivity and optical data relay systems for real-time space communications, on-orbit computing, and hosted payloads.
What you will do
- Develop electrical and communication hardware for satellite payloads and communication routers supporting optical, Ku-band, and S-band protocols.
- Own hardware subassemblies from concept definition through schematic design, PCB layout oversight, integration, verification, and validation.
- Conduct and document derating, reliability, radiation, FMECA, power-budget, and EMI/EMC analyses.
- Support design reviews, identify technical risks, and drive data-based mitigation and resolution.
- Develop validation plans, perform laboratory debugging, analyze results, and communicate recommendations.
- Collaborate with RF, FPGA, software, systems, mechanical, manufacturing, and test engineering teams on integrated solutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
- At least two years of experience developing and validating electronic hardware subassemblies or PCBs.
- Proficiency with schematic capture and PCB layout tools such as Altium Designer or equivalent.
- Experience designing mixed-signal and passive or active analog circuits, including ADCs, DACs, sensors, filters, and precision signal chains.
- Hands-on debugging and root-cause analysis using oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, multimeters, logic analyzers, and other laboratory equipment.
- Strong technical documentation, communication, risk-management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Nice to have
- Experience integrating processors, FPGAs, or SoCs into high-performance embedded systems.
- Experience with memory subsystems such as QSPI, eMMC, DDR3/DDR4, or UFS.
- Experience with high-speed interfaces including JESD204B, Ethernet, or PCIe and related signal-integrity validation.
- Knowledge of clocking architectures, power distribution, fault management, interface-control requirements, and environmental qualification.
Culture & Benefits
- Competitive compensation with an equity plan.
- Health, dental, and vision insurance coverage, including dependents.
- Unlimited vacation, supportive parental leave, and a company-wide holiday shutdown.
- Annual professional development funding of CAD 1,500.
