What you will do

• Review selected inpatient medical records for timely, accurate, and complete clinical documentation.
• Identify inadequate, missing, or conflicting documentation and query physicians for clarification.
• Collaborate with physicians and caregivers to support accurate reimbursement, clinical severity, and DRG assignment.
• Educate providers on documentation specificity throughout the patient stay.
• Apply AHA guidelines and coding clinics, conduct follow-up reviews, and maintain confidentiality.
• Track cases, queries, responses, and quality and production metrics.

Requirements

• 3+ years of Clinical Documentation Improvement experience.
• 3+ years of clinical experience in an academic medical center.
• Registered Nurse license and a Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
• CCDS or CDIP certification required.
• Successful completion of a CDI skills competency assessment.
