Senior Accountant, Investment Accounting (Hybrid)

Location: Hybrid role in Short Hills, New Jersey; until the future headquarters is operational, work may be performed in Branchville, New Jersey.

Salary: USD $101,000.00–$131,000.00 per year.

What you will do

• Prepare and review monthly account analyses, reconciliations, journal entries, adjustments, and financial statements.
• Establish, interpret, and analyze complex accounting records and support the monthly financial close.
• Prepare GAAP and SAP investment disclosures and analytical reviews during the closing process.
• Apply accurate accounting treatment to fixed income, equities, mortgage loans, cash equivalents, and alternative investments.
• Respond to questions about financial results and ensure the integrity and compliance of financial statements.
• Support annual external audits and budget processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
• Five or more years of financial accounting experience.
• Prior exposure to accounting systems and knowledge of GAAP and SAP.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
• Excellent evaluation and troubleshooting abilities.
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with investment accounting software solutions such as Clearwater and custodian platforms such as J.P. Morgan.
• CPA designation; required for upward mobility.
