Manager, Private Equity & FoF Accounting

Location: Hybrid in San Francisco, California, or Walnut Creek, California

Salary: $90,000–$175,000 USD annually, plus potential discretionary bonus and/or equity awards.

What you will do

• Manage key private equity fund client relationships and coordinate timely accounting and reporting deliverables.
• Oversee capital calls, distributions, accruals, valuation adjustments, investor allocations, management fees, and capital account statements.
• Review LPAs, offering documents, side letters, and IMAs to apply fund terms accurately.
• Build and maintain distribution waterfall models and review financial statements, schedules, disclosures, and workpapers.
• Coordinate year-end audits with clients, auditors, and internal teams, and support tax reporting deliverables.
• Lead, coach, and develop junior staff while supporting hiring, performance management, and operational improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
• 7+ years of accounting experience focused on alternative investment funds, including private equity or fund-of-funds experience.
• 2+ years of management or supervisory experience, including supervision of professional staff.
• Knowledge of US GAAP and other comprehensive bases of accounting, with an emphasis on investment partnerships.
• Strong leadership, communication, project management, multitasking, and independent-working skills.
• Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
