Manager, Private Equity & FoF Accounting (Private Equity)

Location: Hybrid in San Francisco, CA or Walnut Creek, CA

Base salary: $90,000–$175,000 USD annually, with potential discretionary bonus and/or equity awards.

What you will do

• Manage private equity and fund-of-funds client relationships and deliver fund accounting and reporting outputs on schedule.
• Oversee capital calls, distributions, accruals, valuation adjustments, investor allocations, management fees, and capital account statements.
• Review LPAs, offering documents, side letters, and IMAs to apply fund terms accurately.
• Build and maintain distribution waterfall models and review financial statements, schedules, and disclosures.
• Coordinate year-end audits, tax reporting support, and other client deliverables with clients, auditors, and internal teams.
• Lead, coach, and evaluate junior staff while supporting hiring, performance management, and operational improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
• 7+ years of accounting experience focused on alternative investment funds, private equity, or fund of funds.
• 2+ years of management or supervisory experience, including supervision of professional staff.
• Knowledge of US GAAP and other comprehensive bases of accounting, especially investment partnerships.
• Strong leadership, project management, multitasking, communication, and client-management skills.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency.
