Lead AV Installation Technician (Audiovisual Technology)

Salary: $38.70–$49.28 per hour

What you will do

• Lead installation technicians, subcontractors, and union trades while performing hands-on installation of commercial AV systems.
• Coordinate daily workloads, priorities, schedules, materials, and site activities with project managers and field supervisors.
• Interpret functional design drawings and cable riser diagrams to build, mount, wire, and test AV systems.
• Perform cable terminations, fiber optic installation and testing, equipment rack assembly, grounding, labeling, and custom panel wiring.
• Identify design, drawing, equipment, and material issues; troubleshoot technical problems and escalate risks.
• Maintain quality, safety, inventories, tools, vehicles, jobsite documentation, and daily project time records.

Requirements

• Five or more years of commercial AV installation or related industry experience.
• Experience supervising, coaching, and training installation technicians.
• Advanced knowledge of AV components, cabling, device integration, rack assembly, and networking equipment.
• Ability to interpret and implement complex project documentation independently and diagnose technical problems.
• High school diploma or GED, OSHA 30 certification, and a valid driver’s license required.
• Ability to work on construction sites, use power tools, climb ladders, and lift or move materials up to 40 pounds.

Nice to have

• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• AVIXA CTS or CTS-I certification.
• Advanced carpentry and installation skills.
