TL;DR

Senior Engineering Manager, Data (Snowflake/dbt): Building and operating a foundational real estate data engine for analytics, decisioning, workflow automation, and product capabilities with an accent on ingestion, modeling, governance, reliability, and self-serve analytics. Focus on defining scalable platform architecture, improving data quality and observability, and growing a high-performing data engineering organization.

Location: Nashville, Tennessee, with a hybrid option or remote work in the United States. Travel to Nashville is required approximately five to six times per year, including at least twice annually for company gatherings for employees outside the Nashville area.

Salary: $225,000–$265,000 USD per year, plus equity and benefits.

What you will do

• Lead, coach, hire, and retain the data engineering team while establishing effective delivery and operational practices.
• Define the architecture and roadmap for ingestion, transformation, orchestration, governance, and data products.
• Build accurate, secure, observable, scalable pipelines and models with strong reliability, SLA, and SLO practices.
• Partner with Product, Analytics, Security, Platform, SRE, and Engineering leaders to align data capabilities with business outcomes.
• Guide tooling and build-versus-buy decisions across Snowflake, dbt, and Sigma.
• Remain hands-on through architecture reviews, design documentation, pairing, and occasional implementation.

Requirements

• 5+ years of engineering management experience leading teams in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
• Direct leadership experience with a data engineering or data platform team.
• Experience scaling teams and systems through hiring, process improvement, architecture, and delivery.
• Hands-on familiarity with Snowflake, dbt, or Sigma, with deep experience in at least one.
• Experience building modern data platforms with ELT, modeling layers, governance, and self-serve analytics.
• Ability to travel to Nashville approximately five to six times per year.

Nice to have

• Experience with Kafka, streaming data, and event-driven architectures.
• Experience operating production systems in AWS and partnering with platform or SRE teams.
• Exposure to AI/ML or data science workflows.
• Experience with TypeScript and Python ecosystems, data quality testing, lineage, observability, and access control.
