What you will do

• Define and advance the global data engineering strategy and architecture in partnership with the CTO and senior leadership.
• Own the roadmap for data platforms and pipelines, balancing analytics, personalization, fraud, and reporting needs.
• Oversee the design and operation of scalable batch and real-time pipelines that serve data reliably across the business.
• Lead the evolution of the data lake/warehouse architecture to ensure performance and cost-efficiency at high transaction volumes.
• Establish and enforce data governance, quality, lineage, and security standards.
• Build and empower a high-performing global data engineering team, fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.

Requirements

• 13+ years of experience in high-growth technology, including 7+ years leading data engineering or data platform teams at scale.
• Experience building and operating high-volume data platforms for consumer-facing, e-commerce, or transactional systems.
• Technical depth in modern data stacks: Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery, Airflow, dbt, Kafka, and AWS.
• Expertise in data pipeline architecture, observability, CI/CD, and SRE practices to ensure high reliability.
• Proficiency with Oracle, DynamoDB, and designing systems for personalization and real-time decisioning.
• Proven success leading distributed, diverse global teams and managing third-party vendors.
