Salary: $180,000 - $220,000 per year

What you will do
- Directly manage Software and Quality Engineers, overseeing hiring, career growth, and performance management.
- Collaborate with product management to translate roadmaps into technical strategies and sequence work effectively.
- Contribute directly to the codebase in Java, TypeScript, and Python, conducting regular code reviews.
- Drive architectural decisions for microservices and event-driven systems using Kafka and AWS.
- Implement an AI-first engineering strategy to accelerate development and integrate AI/LLM features into products.
- Ensure operational excellence through incident response, SLOs, and production monitoring.
Requirements
- Significant experience in software engineering leadership with a proven track record of remaining a hands-on contributor.
- Strong full-stack proficiency in Java (Spring Boot), TypeScript (Vue/React), and Python.
- Deep hands-on experience with AWS (ECS, Lambda, S3, RDS, DynamoDB) and messaging services (Kafka, SNS/SQS).
- Demonstrated AI-first mindset, using AI tools daily and driving their adoption across a team.
- Expertise in designing scalable architectures including microservices and serverless patterns.
- Must be based in or able to work in a hybrid setup in Atlanta, GA.
Nice to have
- Experience leading teams building public-safety, law enforcement, or mission-critical software.
- Production experience building AI/LLM-powered features such as RAG or multi-agent workflows.
- Knowledge of compliance frameworks like FedRAMP, CJIS, or SOC2.
- Experience managing distributed or hybrid-remote engineering teams.
- Prior track record as a Staff or Principal-level individual contributor.
